About Me

My name is Awes Amin; I have lived in Melbourne, Australia for the last 18 years. Melbourne Australia has been ranked by the EIU as the world’s most liveable city for seven years in a row. I am one of the few luckiest people in this world to dwell and live in this wonderful and amazing city.

I have been a photographer for a while now; I never went school for photography, and here I am now. I learned photography through trial and error, and of course, I gained some skill and knowledge from friends and surfing the World Wide Web, and I am still learning. Nowadays, with the introduction of smart phones, most of the people are photographers and enjoy in taking photos. Google reports 24 billion selfies were uploaded last year.

Aaminphotography provides photos on street or life photography, portraits, travel, nature, land, city and waterscape, and random photography in different areas of the world. I believe that an image speaks for itself and tells a story with no need of description.

I admire taking street photography and portraits in various streets of cities, towns, and villages of the world. Most of my street photos are b/w in different locations with people engaging different activities (People socializing, selfies, playing, working, eating, smoking, relationships, resting, photographing, recording, walking, shopping, and various activities). Street photography is amazing and tells fascinating stories of the life of the people during their most vulnerable movements. If I did not capture these moments, I believe they would be a memory of the past.

I particularly enjoy taking portrait photos. You will notice that in most of my portrait photos people are smiling, especially street portraits. This is because I gain their trust from being polite to them; I smile at them and they smile back to me, and that’s when their smile comes naturally.

Travelling is one of my hobbies and I have travelled or visited over 30 countries and enjoyed taking photos randomly of different locations in the world. Every travel destination that I have visited has its own look, beauty, culture, custom, history, people, feelings, landscapes, and stories.

Sometimes it’s a risk of photographing local people and locations in a foreign country, therefore, it’s important to know or study the culture, customs, and local laws of the country before travel.

Aaminphotography also provides unique and random images that have absolutely no connection to one another that I took photos, and these include street and creative photography, still, nature, people, cityscape, animals, and portraits, etc.
